The Center’s Legal Initiatives Project (CLIP) is the legal outreach program of The Center. Founded in 1992 to oppose the anti-gay Colorado constitutional Amendment 2, CLIP is the only legal project in Colorado dedicated solely to the equality and dignity of gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender people and those with HIV.
CLIP accomplishes its mission through the CLIP Legal Hotline, civil rights litigation and mediation, media work, and public education. Our work is guided by two key principles: first, a focus on cases and issues that will have the most impact to move our civil rights agenda forward, and second, service to the most oppressed and disadvantaged in our communities.
While CLIP's work primarily serves GLBT people and those with HIV in Colorado, we believe that equality is indivisible, and democracy means a place at the table for all, not just for those in our own groups. Our civil rights cannot be secured without addressing other systemic inequalities, especially those based on race and class.
For more information about CLIP's legal services, or if you believe you have been discriminated against because of your sexual orientation, gender identity, or HIV status in Colorado, email clip@glbtcolorado.org, or call the CLIP Legal Hotline at 303-282-6524.
