Access to safe, well-paying jobs is one of the top three issues facing the transgender community, and The Center is proud to have hosted the first transgender job fair ever in a non-coastal city.

The Center is excited to announce that we will host our next Transgender Job fair this spring, on May 5th 2012. In addition to job interview opportunities, we will also have information on transgender rights in the workplace, transitioning in the workplace and general job placement resources.

Keynote Speaker
The keynote speaker for our May 5th Job Fair will be BJ Kamigaki. BJ has been with Hewlett Packard for 35 years. She joined HP in Loveland Colorado after graduating high school in 1977. Since then she worked her way up the technical ladder taking college courses and rising two children. Since 1990 she has been in Quality and Product Safety Engineering and Quality Engineering Management.
She transitioned from male to female in 2004 and has been a role model for the HP transgender community. She is currently the Chair of HP’s Global Pride Leadership Council and the moderator of an HP companywide transgender support group called T-chat. She is active is support of Out and Equal workplace advocates, and was a finalist nominee in 2006 for Out and Equal’s” Outie” award. She was co-recipient of the Gender Identity Center of Colorado’s Melissa Chapman award in 2007.
BJ currently lives in and works from home in rural Iowa with her partner Vickie and dog Clouseau. She and has 5 grandsons of her own and shares another 3 grandsons and 1 granddaughter from Vickie’s side.
About TCAP:
TCAP was created to assist Colorado's transgender community find good-paying jobs with employers who have transgender inclusive policies in place. TCAP also assists employers in cultivating a friendly and inclusive work environment. TCAP will include several job preparedness workshops at The Center leading up the job fair itself in May.
