The GLBT Community Center of Colorado is proud to announce the 10th annual Gaybutante celebration, benefiting Rainbow Alley. This year’s event will be hosted at St. Cajetan’s on the Auraria campus on National Coming Out Day, Saturday, October 11, 2008 from 6pm to 8pm.
Chris Parente, Channel 2 reporter and supporter of Rainbow Alley will be emceeing the dinner this year, which honors the strength and courage of Denver youth who have embraced their GLBT identity. Modeled after the debutante tradition, “Gaybutantes” tell their compelling and inspiring coming out stories in front of a welcoming community of friends and supportive, safe adults.
We also honor adults and other youth agencies that have made a positive impact in the GLBT youth community this year. The Gaybutante celebration is always one of our most powerful events, and undoubtedly one of the most important in the Denver GLBT community.
