About the Young Adults and Adults Program

Our Young Adults and Adults Program is a welcoming and affirming space for LGBTQ+ individuals ages 18-49. We offer opportunities to engage with educational workshops and participate in community events, supporting individuals as they build community supported independence and close relationships with peers.

We want your feedback!

Our Young Adults and Adults Program, is being restructured in 2025! We are excited that the program, which previously served young adults ages 18-24, will be expanding to serve adults ages 18-49 with a large range of programming and events to support our community members through every stage of adult life.

We are currently gathering input as to what our community wants to see from the restructured program. Please share your vision for our future services!

Community Member Spotlights

Jade (she/her), a community member in the Young Adults and Adults Program

Jade began attending The Center this fall when she was seeking ways to build her community. The first time she attended one of our drop-in programs, Jade realized she had a place here and people to bond with.

Since then, Jade has frequented The Center and is loving the social opportunities to build new friendships. “Stay strong, and you’ll have allies here,” Jade shared.

Outside of The Center, Jade spends her free time welding, reading sci-fi books, and playing video games.

Young Adults and Adults Program Spotlight: Charlie (they/them)

Charlie has been a participant in our Young Adults and Adults Program since April 2025. They first attended programming when they were seeking connections with people whose values aligned with their own. Since joining, The Center has become a third space for Charlie, allowing them to meet new friends each week in an entirely free space.

So far, Charlie’s favorite event with the program was a field trip to Red Line Art Gallery. Charlie enjoyed exploring the unique art pieces that felt different from the type of work they had seen previously at other museums.

Outside of The Center, Charlie is pursuing a degree in psychology. They enjoy playing guitar, reading, playing video games, and spending time with their cat Henry and their bearded dragon Gourmand.

Young Adults and Adults Program Spotlight: AJ (he/him)

When AJ began attending our Young Adults and Adults Program over the 2025 summer, he was seeking a space to socialize and spend time with people his age. Since then, he has found the community connections he was looking for during our weekly drop-in hours.

AJ is a skilled crafter and loves creating plush felt creatures in his free time. He is looking forward to continuing to engage with the program and his community by hosting a workshop to teach others this skill as well.

Outside of The Center, AJ spends time creating art, building his own video game, and hanging out with his three-legged cat named Elsa.
